Ruud Out
PhD, Former VP of R&D at Meatable, Startup Professional, and R&D Advisor
Ruud is a seasoned professional with expertise in managing teams and coaching in scientific disciplines, coupled with extensive knowledge of research and development methodologies.
"I've spent the majority of my career in startups, where I thrive on building, growing, and leading R&D teams while integrating cutting-edge technologies. As the first employee at Meatable, I worked closely with the two founders to grow the company from the ground up. As VP R&D and member of the management team my role involved establishing and overseeing all R&D activities; applying licensed technologies across various fields to develop Meatable’s cultivated meat products. I led several teams to innovate, develop and scale cell lines, culture media, and bioreactor processes, resulting in novel intellectual property and cultivated meat products. Additionally, I was responsible for setting up labs, hiring and managing a team of 60 R&D employees. I helped in securing both dilutive and non-dilutive funding, and managing external collaborations, including tech transfers and joint development agreements."
Ruud is passionate about helping companies in the R&D phase unlock their full innovation potential.
